Shakespeare wrote that music may be the food of love, and while I don’t want to doubt the great man let’s be honest: chocolate can give it a good run for its money. Think of its mood-enhancing properties. The delicious decadence of licking gently melting chocolate off your fingertips.…

For years chocolate has been synonymous with romance and Valentines. So much so that some believe chocolate is even an aphrodisiac, pointing for proof to the chemicals it shares with ones we produce when in love. (Tryptophan and phenylethylamine for those of you with a scientific mind.)

Truffles too are another famed aphrodisiac. Meaning this box has totally got you covered on the romantic foods front…

But beyond foods that might get us in a loving mood, I often think that the best thing about Valentine’s Day is the opportunity it presents to pause for a moment and reflect upon the love you share. To both celebrate and enjoy it. That could well be by cooking up an elaborate 5-course love-feast – but equally, there’s a lot to be said for taking a rather more, let’s say, laidback approach.   For popping a cork and settling back to enjoy together light bites that reflect the Valentine’s mood of indulgence, decadence, pleasure, and joy.
